For the other slide, I chose ‘occupational status’ because of three reasons. Firstly, I chose this social identity because of the intentional energy I spend thinking about it on a day-to-day life. Secondly, I have so much awareness about this identity as it is very important to me depending on the occasions I am in and the people I address. Lastly, I’m always forced to put this identity into consideration, especially when interacting with strangers, colleagues, and people I’m not used to. Therefore, this identity has been very important to put into consideration as a result of respect to the people depending on their occupational statuses. For instance, during a debate or banter with friends, I must consider their occupational status so that I don’t come up with stories or conclusions that may demean their status or upset them. I care so much about how others feel, and my empathetic nature has to consider this identity everywhere I go.
